Reginald K. Gee
African American, Outsider
Gee sometimes works on traditional supports such as canvas, but many of his works use brown grocery bags. The simple, sturdy surface takes the color well. While self-taught, Reginald Gee is accomplished in his ability to construct an interesting image: Using Craypas (oil pastel sticks), Gee paints the background and then he draws the figures on top of it.
